Joan was born into a family of artists with their home being a gallery of paintings by her father, mother, and siblings. They had family shows at The Butler Art Institute in Youngstown, OH. Joan had her first show when she was eleven. Her inspired art is alive with spirit and her added touches of swirls and curls will take you into your psyche for contemplation and pleasantly rest you on delicate petals of love.

To Joan learning to see has been the main focus throughout her career. She enjoys taking common subjects and combining inner wisdom to create magic. Her florals are such an example, they are an expression of love and beauty for a troubled world. The abstracts in the show are reveries of her inner vision where she enjoys vibrant color and amorphous forms. This series is called Inner Scapes.

Joan has a BFA from the University of Albuquerque. She continues her self-teaching.
